In the financial world, financial service providers must think internationally, as national strategies are no longer sufficient. As Academic Director of the XFM Program, I want my students to develop an explorer’s instinct: to cross the frontier of the problem-awareness and structuring approach of case studies into the territory of financial theory and empirical finance. Their discoveries in this area are used to create a toolbox, which when you return to the original problem, enables you to engage with it from a fresh perspective, and so generate innovative solutions.
